Diagnostics for companies

Who it is for
For whoever leads a team and has a sense that something is off.
“They are not motivated” is the first explanation that comes to mind for a team that is not delivering, and the least useful one, because it does not tell you what to do. Very different things can sit behind that sentence: people with no room to decide, people who cannot tell whether they are doing well, people who work next to each other, or a team that functions only while somebody is watching.
These tools do not measure your team. They put what you already see in order, so that the next conversation, or the next measurement, starts from the right question.
How it was built
A manager's view, ordered by theory.
The checklist follows self-determination theory, the framework the Motiva Metrics platform itself rests on. The first three areas are the three basic psychological needs: autonomy, competence and relatedness. The fourth is the quality of motivation, which is to say the difference between controlled and autonomous. The fifth records what is already visible in behaviour.
The statements are ours and are not a validated instrument. They record what you, as a manager, notice, not what your people think. That is why the checklist shows whether it is worth measuring, not how big the problem is, and does not say what the cause is.
What happens to your answers
We keep nothing about your team.
This site has no database. Your answers are not written anywhere: the result is encoded in the link you get at the end, with no company name, no email, nothing but the answers. Whoever has the link sees the result; whoever does not, sees nothing.
If you ask for the profile by email, we receive a note with your address and the link to that result. If you also tick that you would like a conversation, we receive the name, company and phone you typed, and use them only to get in touch. If you do not tick it, we send the profile and that is the end of it.
Frequently asked
The checklist shows whether it is worth measuring. Not how much.
Motiva Metrics measures these areas systematically, by team, department and tenure, asking the employees themselves, anonymously, and shows where the gap is widest and what exactly to do about it.
