Tests
What motivates you to work?
People work for different reasons, and none of them is wrong. But the reasons differ in how long they last: inner ones renew themselves, outer ones wear out, and when both are gone what is left is autopilot. Fifteen questions draw your profile.

What you get
- Your profile: driven by the work, paid by it, both, or neither
- Three dimensions separately: intrinsic, extrinsic, amotivation
- A result link you can share, and the full report by email if you want it
15 questions · about 3 min · Orientation, not a diagnosis.
Your answers stay with you. The result is encoded in the link - no name, no email - and only the people you send it to can see it.
The split into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and amotivation comes from self-determination theory (Deci and Ryan); the questions follow the structure of the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS, Gagné and colleagues, 2015), collapsed to three poles. They are ours, written for this site, and not a validated instrument. Extrinsic motivation is neither good nor bad on its own, which is why its bar carries no colour. When working with organisations, Motiva Metrics uses validated scales and a broader analytical approach, to give a more reliable basis for understanding employee experience.
