Some events push you to think more boldly and to move the edge of what you believed was possible. Disrupt is one of them: a global conference that gathers people who do not merely follow change but lead it. This year, among the speakers at the Dom sindikata in Belgrade, was our own Dušana Šarčević.
Why her talk landed
Dušana spoke with the confidence and clarity of someone who knows their field to the bottom. In five minutes she carried twenty slides on a single question: what is left when money stops motivating employees. Her argument was that the answers are not to be found intuitively, but in scientific models. A thousand “whys” were opened, and only three “becauses” given - which is roughly the honest ratio in this field. The audience got to see how psychology, research and organisational strategy connect, and how that connection changes the way a company works.
She reminded everyone in the room that no innovation lasts if the people inside the organisation do not feel autonomous, competent and connected.
